Created for the Dawson College Graphic Design Exhibition 2026, this project involved designing a promotional poster for the graduating class vernissage. The poster was selected among the top 10 submissions and explores the balance between communication, typography, imagery, and artistic expression.
The brief was to design a poster announcing the 2026 Dawson College Graphic Design Exhibition. The objective was to create a visually engaging concept that promotes the exhibition while experimenting with diverse media, techniques, and the relationship between clear communication and creative self-expression.
My concept, Outliers, reflects the graduating class as designers who challenge convention and stand apart from the norm. I contrasted a structured graphic grid with handmade ink textures created through mark-making, blending order and spontaneity to mirror the intersection of graphic design and artistic experimentation.
The final poster combines expressive analog textures with a disciplined grid system to create a bold, contemporary composition. The contrast between handcrafted surfaces and precise typography reinforces the theme of Outliers, producing a visually distinctive identity that communicates the exhibition while celebrating the individuality of the graduating class.
